3) and Blockade Labs' Sketch-to-World diffusion engine.

Plus bonus content 🎁

Grab your boards, and let’s ride the waves of the day 🏄‍♂️

Pssst! You get 13% off HubberOS, my Notion-based content system, when it launches if you refer 5 people to Woze! More about in today’s Developer’s Corner.

Last week, amidst the USA bank collapses and bank runs, the rumours around GPT-4 began spreading on Twitter like wildfire.

The new model is out, although not yet accessible for the masses. You have to join the waitlist to use it. It’s understandable, as the team doesn’t seem to want more outages due to a high influx of API requests. If you’re interested, join the waitlist here.

From the yesterday’s livestream, we’ve found out that GPT-4 is now capable of taking image input, and doing extremely well at extracting its data too!

It even created a whole entire website (HTML, CSS, and JS) from picture of a napkin 🤯!!! Take a look at the video below.

With these new groundbreaking developments every week, there’s bound to come new cool products that come out of this. Are building or thought of something exciting to build with GPT-4?

Let me know by connecting with me on Linkedin and Twitter or commenting under this Twitter post:

If you’ve read, the Developer’s Corner in recent Woze issues, you’ve seen that I’ve mentioned Midjourney in some form.

Heck, I even created whole mask collection of AI generated art with it!!

It seems like the team at Midjourney will be releasing Version 5 very soon, which looks REAL good from the snippets in the rating activities they posted on their Discord.

Anyways, take a look at this Version 5 capture though:

AI Generated Image LOL

I’ve tried the rating activities for a bit and let me tell you, it seems Version 5 will have improved realism that could make photographers quake in their boots!

It’s about to get really crazy with so much development from the AI space!

Also, we’ve surpassed 500 users without any active marketing 🥳!

But let’s continue.

In issue #004 (read it here), we covered Blockade Labs and their Skybox Lab, which allows you to turn text to a 3D world.

Three issues later, and they’ve upped the gears now with a “Sketch to World” diffusion engine, taking VR world-building with AI to another level.

From this demo, we can see that it works by scribbling in the virtual canvas, much like you would on a piece of paper or on Photoshop.

Your scribbles would then be processed by the Blockade Labs’ Skybox Diffusion engine, who converts your sketch into a virtual world.

Coupling this with the right prompt, you can produce some stunning world with the tools from Blockade Labs.

Mind-blowing right?! Just imagine all the potential use-cases where this could be used. One that pops to mind is “Dream capturing”, especially for kids.

Imagine having your toddlers kids use this to capture what they saw in their dreams, and combing back to that later down in life? They’d get to see their own creativeness grow, plus get any “messages” from their dreams if you’re spiritual.

The only thing that will limit you is your imagination.

END NOTE

Being in the loop of all things, if not most, in emerging technology makes you age faster that dogs. Without a doubt.

It should even be its own category at this point. Maybe “aging in AI years”?

Salute to everyone in the emerging technology space👋 we really are elders among babes 😂

👨‍💻 DEVELOPER’S CORNER

Over the weekend, I’ve been focusing more on health. Why? Because as a developer, you can get lost due to the enchantment of technology.

I’ve realised that I gave more focus and energy to what I’m doing technology-wise WHILE depriving others areas of my life.

And that is something I am working on. If you’re a fellow developer, or know someone that is, don’t let your talents/work consume you.

Create a rigorous system that fits how YOU work (you can find this through experimentation).

Anyways. There is no significant update any builds, apart for making progress with NotionDeck. But I did get up to a little something though!

I’ve created `LMNSQZY`. It’s a modular Typescript-driven SDK for interacting with the LemonSqueezy API. It mirrors the LemonSqueezy API, making it easier to maintain (on my side😂) over the long term. Take a peek of it below!

LMNSQZY in action

I need to fix a few things and create more tests for the handlers it provides, but so far, it’s good to use. The only handler I didn’t finish off is `createCheckout` - per the documentation, it allows you to programmatically create a custom URL for a specific product variant (aside from the default, like a small or bigger offer?).

This is no sponsored post, but if you’re looking to offer digital products like cheatsheets, resource packs and more to your audience, then you’ll find LemonSqueezy to be a great option.

If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll remember HubberOS, a customisable Notion-powered system for content creation. Since my post about it, it has grown so much, with more sections to help you have a streamlined system for managing content.

I’ll soon be launching it on LemonSqueezy 👀 And because you’re part of Woze, you’ll receive a be first to claim it with 13% off discount code when you send this email to 5 people and successfully subscribe!

But. There’s. More.

If you’re a developer looking to stay competitive and be on top of the latest, you’ll be first in line to claim my digital handbooks when they release!

Look, I even have them lined up in my LMNSQZY store already…

Plus more!

Tag a developer you know and tell them to join la banda!

YOUTUBE CHANNEL ANNOUNCEMENT

For the past 2 years, I’ve been told “You should really start a YoutTube channel” to the point that, I really will start one, you know?😂

And with that, I announce YT: EmergingTechGuy.

Through this channel, I’ll be posting practical tips and code-along projects (no sped up videos, you get the raw footage!).

And to show you that I’m really devoting to help you become a modern developer, ‘timed challenges’ will be introduced to help you drill concepts and methodologies. I’ll announce them across my socials when ready!

I want to bring a new flavour by bringing fresh & engaging projects that differ from the usual boring projects that have been repeated for eons (haha OK not so extreme, but you get the idea😂).

EmergingTechGuy YouTube Homepage

I’d really appreciate it if you subscribed to the channel. I’m not one to lie - expect to see raw/OK visual quality videos since I’ll be using my Macbook’s camera and my Jabra headset I used in my SDR/BDR Hybrid role at EG 😂

That’s it for today, crew 👋

See you next Wednesday :)

Enric (EmergingTechGuy)
